Day 1

TBD- Pick up from Thessaloniki.

Upon arrival to Epirus we will explore the city of Ioannina, where East meets West, a multicultural historic place, home to a number of great novelists and poets! Ioannina was found by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian. We will walk around the Castle of Ioannina and travel back in time by visiting the Kahal Kadosh Hadash Synagogue! Then, we will visit its well-known lake and take a boat cruise on its small island-a natural monument to explore Greece’s oldest traditions! Not to be missed is the Ali Pasha Museum. On the way to the Hotel we will discover Elliniko village the house of “Tsouka Monastery” and enjoy the magnificent views of the rivers. The candlelight midnight mass of Resurrection, is not to be missed. Worth visiting also, is the “Theodoros Papayannis Museum” of Contemporary Art”, where the well-known sculptor and his team have placed their work which speaks about Epirus and its history.

DAY 2: RAFTING ON THE RIVER OF ARACHTHOS

09:00 – Breakfast.
10:30 – After your breakfast, Go for It! The Arachthos River is considered to be the ideal starting point for the classic rafting experience! It is one of Greece’s best rivers for rafting…a pity to be missed!

DAY 3: CYCLING IN THE TZOUMERKA VILLAGES

08:00 – Breakfast
09:00 – Depart from the Hotel
09:30 – Start your cycling tour within the picturesque villages of Tzoumerka.
19:30 – Dinner @ Hotel: 15€ per person.

We can easily provide them for adults and children above 13 years old. *If you think however, that particular guests are very demanding clients and very experienced we suggest they bring their own so everyone is happy and we do not face any problems.}

DAY 4: CANYONING IN THE PINDOS MOUNTAINS

09:00 – Breakfast.
10:00 – Depart from Hotel.
12:30 – You chose the best combined activity ever! Hike in the wild, dive in the freshest water and climb up huge vertical cliffs and passages. Enjoy the majesty of the untouched crossings! Dare to be different and pass through caves and breathtaking nature!

DAY 5: TZOUMERKA MOUNTAINS HIKING

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Depart from the Hotel.

10:30 – Arrive in Syrrako Village the birthplace of the first Prime minister in Greece. The hiking path will begin in Syrrako and will pass through the Village of Kalarrytes, home to internationally known goldsmiths and silversmiths such as the famous Mr. Bulgari who established the house of “BVLGARI”. We will stop and see the 200 year old famous coffee place of the region and then we will continue the walk until the Kipina MonasteryThe Monastery was built in 1212 in the middle of a rock on a vertical cliff. Whoever is interested can visit the Monastery at the end of the walk.

DAY 6: METSOVO

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Depart from the Hotel.

10:00 – Arrive in Metsovo, one of the most famous destinations in Greece for its gastronomy. Its vineyards as well as its exquisite cheese are very well known throughout Greece. It’s a town in the Pindos Mountains and they say that its name comes from the words “meso” & “vouno” which means “located in the mountain”. The Tosizza family, well known for its political power and strength saved Metsovo from young locals migrating by encouraging local facilities. Several young cheese makers were sent to Italy for training purposes which helped the actual region to its revival. A variety of cheeses can be found such as
“metsovone” influenced by the Italian cheese “provolone”, “graviera”, “parmesan” and so on. We will get to try the cheese as well as taste the famous Wine in
Averoff’s Vineyards.
We will then complete a hiking trail at the Mountain of Mavrovouni and stop at Aoos Lake for a swim.

DAY 7: METEORA SIGHTSEEING – THESSALONIKI

09:00 – Breakfast.
10:00 – Check Out from the Hotel.
11:00 – Depart from Tzoumerka and pass by Meteora, the unique limestone cliffs standing between the earth and the sky hiding long preserved treasures of history and religion which are also a UNESCO world heritage site. Meteora has one of the largest and most important complexes of Greek Orthodox monasteries in Greece, a must visit!v 1 Visit to a Monastery
